openHAB at the FrOSCon14

Date of publication

"Every year in late summer, the Department of Computer Science at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, with the help of FrOSCon e.V., organises an exciting programme of lectures and workshops for visitors of all ages who use Free Software, want to learn about it or develop it themselves." This is the self-image of FrOSCon, which it has actually been fulfilling for 14 years.

With CMS Garden e. V. I have been a "permanent exhibitor" at FrOSCon for several years now and every time I leave FrOSCon with exciting new contacts, topics and impressions that keep me busy for weeks and months afterwards.

This time, together with Jerome Luckenbach, I was responsible for the stand area of the openHAB Foundation. This meant: preparations and communication with the organisers of FrOSCon, shipping and transporting the "presentation case", setting up the stand, looking after the ambassadors and "48" hours of continuous talks about SmartHome, SmartCity, SmartBuilding and IoT.

For myself, I have to subtract a few hours because I was scheduled as an ambassador for Drupal at the CMS Garden stand and was confirmed as a speaker in advance. Thank you Jerome for baking this :)

As almost always at events, I had so much in my luggage that I didn't have time for the presentations of other speakers. I was all the more pleased that all the sessions were recorded and can be accessed via the wonderful media.ccc.de portal.

From the SmartHome and IoT category, I can recommend the following sessions.
